Ducks in Blue Dresses
Now if you know what I mean by the title, then don't say it yet (we still have one day before we can actually start talking about it). And if you don't know what I mean by the title, then just enjoy it as it is!

And yes I realize the duck in the illustration isn't wearing a blue dress, but I thought it looked cool with the blue waters and such...

Anyway, I consider this among my awesome achievements. So please critique if you can! D:

Quite a simple idea, but ever so lovely and pleasant! I love the strong, vivacious colours- the joyous yellow of the duck's body; then that little beak of sudden orange; the fresh, rather unusual choice of green as the background; and the serene blue of the waves- neither too light nor too rich in hue.

I like how you create a sense of depth so very simply, by using a darker shade of blue for the waves behind the duckie and a lighter shade in front. The choice to use a texture for the background was also a good one, I think! It contrasts with the yellow duck's smooth, sleek perfection somewhat, and creates interest in the simple picture.

All in all, a very well executed and sweet piece of work!
