I haven't been very artistic or creative lately, in fact for the past few years. It's hard really focusing all of my energy on doing one project, especially when my head is so cluttered with other thoughts. I just wanted to make a minor update to the devious world, both because I think you all should know, and also if you could offer any extra advice...

In 10 days, I'll be leaving for Japan. I'm going to be studying abroad there for three months, and then afterwards, I hope to travel a bit more, but we'll see if I can even afford that. I'm going to be in Mitaka, Tokyo. I'm going to be attending the International Christian University. If anyone is in Japan, Tokyo, Mitaka, or ICU, please do contact me just for letting me know anything I should probably know. I've done my research, I'm starting to pack, and everything is all set. Now it's time for me to actually start experiencing. It'd be great to meet some new people, including deviants! In any case, I hope I'll have a great time, and I'm so freaking nervous and excited, it's insane. I still don't believe it, and probably won't until I'm halfway across the Pacific. We'll see how things go. But this just means yet another giant break from the Internet.

Well hello there! It feels incredibly strange writing a new journal. I've kind of been gone a pretty long time.... and my messages are basically proof of how much I've missed... I've got quite a lot of stuff to read through! :/

I guess I'm basically going to try and be a bit more active on here. I'm feeling nostalgic memories, and even though a lot has changed in just a span of over a year (is that right?), I remembered that I've created some amazing friendships on this site, and I guess I'm really reallly really neglecting being a good friend to a lot of you deviants. So I apologize on suddenly going MIA.

So to start, I'm going to have to redo my profile a bit. There's a lot of old deviations that I no longer want on my profile, and a lot of deviations I no longer look after (like my Greasemonkey scripts). I haven't programmed in a while, so I'm not going to be fixing a lot of scripts that I know for sure are broken. I apologize again, if this is a problem for you. I may get back into programming scripts once more eventually, but I honestly do not have the time.

Where have I been? Funny you should ask. Going away to college really does completely take over your life, I guess. I'm away at school in beautiful Santa Cruz, CA. I'm also in the middle huge creative block that started as soon as I started college.  That's also why I'm back on here. Inspiration, motivation, and excitement to start making art again. I'm enrolled in an "Introduction Drawing" course, which sounds super awesome and also kind of expensive (art supplies = $$). At least I've still been taking photos, even though I gave up on a 365 day photo project (typical me, giving up on a project).

I'm not really sure what else to say about my life, so please ask me some questions! I'd like to reconnect with some of you, so please please comment! Or send me a note! Anything really. I miss how amazing of a community this place was. Honestly I can say everyone I interacted with has changed my life in some way, some in really huge ways.

So I guess I'm back! I can't promise I'll be online everyday like I used to be, but I'm definitely going to be back to being deviant, like I used to be

(PS- What the heck is a Journal Portal? Someone needs to refresh me with all the new stuff on this site! I feel super old and senior-like!)

So, hello. I've been kind of.. gone for a few months now. Sorry about that. I suppose college really does ... take over life.

Unfortunately, it will continue to take over life, at least until summer time. I know SuggestDD is all broken and sad, but you guys will have to make do with the old "Suggestions via note" technique. The error is in the GM list, obviously, and I haven't had any time to look into it. I know I'm not being a very good deviant here, but sometimes life gets you really busy, and as always, my education and outside-dA life is generally more important I've even stopped using Twitter these days D:

So, I'm terribly sorry for any DD inconveniences, or if any other scripts are down. I'm sure life wasn't that difficult before SuggestDD was made, now was it?

I had a long and lengthy like essay planned out to write for you guys, but I'm kinda tired sooo no. Basically on Saturday I went to LA, and had time to go to the dA party at the house of blues with my friend. It was fun, but less fun than I had expected it to be, probably because I kind of missed the first 4 hours. Anywho, I got to see an awkward photo of +spyed (I think...) or someone anyway haha, back in the first lil days of dA. I also so Muro, and got to play around with it a lot. I also met `electricnet, $ewm, $danlev, `GaioumonBatou, $Ikue, `shuttermonkey and other peeps but those are the ones that come to mind right now. Kind of hard to forget `GaioumonBatou considering he kinda glomped me when I walked in

What really frustrated me were the DJs. No offense to anyone who loved them/the DJs themselves, but it just wasn't that great. I was expecting something to dance to. The first DJ was just confusing... monkey sounds were involved and a video PSA type thing to go along with it. It was okay though, and I prefer it considering it actually had words. The second DJ was mostly just a beat (dubstep? not sure) but it was kinda hustle/disco-y. Some people really liked it though, I kind didn't. The third DJ was the iPad DJ, and she seemed to be warming up pretty well, I was hoping to see more of her, but unfortunately me and my friend (~lamour00) had to leave :/

All in all it was okay though, I liked meeting people, enjoyed myself, liked the atmosphere, Muro, arts crafts room was cute, and yeah haha. I don't want to seem negative...

Anyway, I stayed in LA/the area for a couple days, and went to Disneyland yesterday (my birthday!) for the first time (ironic huh? 18 and first time going to Disneyland). It was reallyyyy fun Awesome day. And now I'm back home.

SuggestDD v0.7 - install
Completely revamped. Tell me what you think about the design. For bugs, link me the deviation you found the bug on as well. Check to see if the 3-month counter works now, as it was very buggy in previous versions. NOTE: Update checker is disabled. When publicly released, you must reinstall for update checker to work again.

Birthdays Menu v0.4 - install
Mostly revamped to fit the new v7 style. Just make sure birthdays load, and the friend-check works.

Now that v7 has released (expectedly unexpected), many of my scripts are dead. Below are the scripts that I am working on (as I am aware they are either not compatible). This journal will be for the beta testers/all deviants who are using v7 and want to test my scripts with it, and report any issues they find. Once I feel the script is stable, I will release the official version on the deviations.

As v7 is slowly approaching us, it's obvious a lot of scripts will need to be updated. I've been asked a lot about whether I'm making updates available at the moment, will the scripts work right, etc. Here's some answers!

Soli's Scripts Beta Tester Program
Sounds fancy. Once I've finalized script updates on my end, I will be making a journal for this program, where everyone will have access to the newer versions. This will be for the beta testers who are testing v7, and still want their favorite scripts enabled and working. Remember, this will be at your own risk. If dA changes something that might make the script break, I'll work on updating it, and update the journal, so check the journal whenever I make it. Scripts that are currently planned to be on it are: Birthdays Menu, deviantSTATS, Shoutbox Link Adder, and Birthday Today. SuggestDD is still being considered.

What's going on with SuggestDD?
I originally planned to make just a couple minor quick updates that made the script somewhat compatible with v7 (beta 2) - but then I slowly realized it won't work. I made these scripts a long time ago. And even now the site's design is still changing. I try to keep the same look and feel on dA to reflect onto my scripts, so everything seems smooth and .. just 'right' - which is hard when dA keeps changing!

So, I'm planning to rewrite SuggestDD. The rewrite I believe will be made available in this SSBT program of mine. Most of the rewriting will be it's interface. It will be a bit more similar to dA Custom Usernames' design.

How long will this take?! I want to suggest DDs!!!
I'm unsure whether I'll be done by the time v7 is released (cause I don't know when it will be...) but hopefully everything will be done in the near future. If not, try to keep suggesting DDs the manual way. That's right, going to the FAQ, looking up the GM, sending a note. Why not put a little more effort? Plus, the new notes design is awesome. And you should know your GMs by now.

Hey kiddies.

My main domain will be down soon and will need to be replaced, meaning SuggestDD and WhichGMAreYou (which get stuff from my website, that's why you've rarely needed to update them for some bug fixes) won't work for a while. Not at this moment, but soon, maybe tonight, maybe later, whenever I get things transferred over to a new domain. So if things start being stupid, this is why! Things will be officially over in March, but there's the possibility of ending soon, so eek.

By the way, do any of you know of some good/cheap hosting+domain solutions? Or subdomain solutions, as well. I need at least 150MB space. I do have some options, but the one I'm leaning on has really slow upload speed (I don't know why, but it dies at least once per upload and needs to reupload :/ I think there might be a 5MB max?)

So do tell me of amazing free domain/subdomain/hosting stuff! D:

Hey there deviants, I know I haven't been that active lately (though I am hopefully going to be in #nanowrimo tomorrow for some novel chatting!)
