Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

New iWish
Completely redesigned. New features such as editing and deleting wishes, sending wishes to twitter, wishing via a mobile phone (SMS), and wish replies.

FYI: To edit/delete/setup twitter/learn about mobile/practically every new feature, you need to Login via the Find Wishes feature. You click 'Find', enter the e-mail address you used for your wishes (if you used one, otherwise you're out of luck). You'll be taken to your wish page, click "Login", and login with your password. (If you don't have one, generate one to be sent to your e-mail, it can be changed later). Once logged into your dashboard, you can input your twitter info, edit/delete wishes, etc. It's not as hard as it seems. Hopefully.

I hope there are no bugs or anything. SMS kind of bugs me because a forced reply to your SMS is sent, with stupid ads that I can't exactly disable (part of the system). I'm working on making the reply disabled, that way you just wish. Wishing mobile is completely anonymous, not even a phone number is stored. Soon you will be able to sign up your email to be paired with your number, having wishes wished via your phone sent to your wish page (w/ Find).

Seems more and more difficult...

Ah well, HAVE FUN. I worked hard on this!

When you tell it to send to twitter ... where the heck does it show up? Did I have to put my email in for it to work?

Well you're supposed to login (Find>Enter your email address>Login), and set your Twitter profile settings (username, password). Then whenever you wish with your email address, it uses those settings to post to twitter.
