Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Aye.
Right so my lovely winter break is ending quickly, and as soon as Monday hits me, I doubt I'll be submitting much to dA. I will however be expecting the new dA Userpages to be up and online for all users soon, since if not, I can't release deviantSTATS, Birthday Today, and anything else broken along with it. I'm sorry for you beta testers/GMs out there that use these scripts, and I hope all will be equal once more. (Minus the fact that subscribers should receive some subscriber only features? Like drag/dropping, modules, etc...)

SuggestDD v0.5 !?
Well I've showed some lucky souls out there a preview of SuggestDD v0.5, and they're either wetting their pants, or staying calm. There's no in between. Trust me. It will be remarkable (well at least I think it will be). Here's a nice preview for you folks out there: preview. Note: the deviation used is by $danlev. SuggestDD v0.5 will be released most likely this month if all goes well, and I get some more awesome idea. The latter isn't as important due to the fact that it's awesome already!

Speaking of awesome ideas...
